Love Your Curly Hair But Want Loose Curls? This Tip Will Help

Beauty & Fashion Blog

As someone who has curly hair, you probably love all the various styles you can create. You can keep it curly or straighten it with a straightening iron. If you're like most people, you want the latest loose curl style. This guide demonstrates how to achieve the look easily in just a few hours.

Step 1: Deep Condition Hair After Washing

Choose a shampoo that's good for curly hair. If you're not sure which one to pick, ask your stylist. Then wash and rinse your hair twice. Use your fingers to scrunch the excess water out of the hair. Apply a stylist-approved conditioner, beginning at the roots and working your way to the ends of the hair.

Put your hair up in a plastic cap and allow the conditioner to work on your hair for about 10 minutes. Then rinse it out in cool to cold water, according to your comfort level.

Step 2: Section Off the Hair

Grab a wide-tooth comb and section it off into several sections. Use bobby pins to keep the sections separated. When your hair is completely sectioned off, take off one bobby pin at a time, comb it once more and apply styling cream from the roots to the tips. Note: Spray a little detangler on knots as they appear and untangle them with your fingers.

Step 3: Twist the Sections

Working with one section at a time, twist the hair from the scalp to the tip until all the sections are twisted. Use the bobby pins to hold the twists together by placing them at the bottom of the twist. Wait for the twists to dry before moving on to the next steps.

Step 4: Untwist the Sections

Working from the back of the head to the front, remove the bobby pins and untwist each section. Run your fingers through the sections gently. You can run your fingers through one section at a time, or the whole head of hair to separate the twists revealing the loose curls.

Your natural curly hair will hold the curls for quite a while, but if you want extra hold, apply a light hairspray. Try not to touch your hair too much throughout the day or evening because the more you mess with these loose curls, the more you'll begin to notice that your tighter curls come back. Share this with others who want the trendy look of loose curls but don't know how to achieve it with their naturally curly hair.

Accessorizing Your Evening Gown

My name is Melinda Franklin, and I want to thank you for visiting my website. My husband Joseph is an executive in the firm where he works. This means we have three to five annual formal affairs to attend. I will be the first to admit that I’m not the most fashion savvy person. For years, I would find and wear what I thought was the perfect evening gown for each event, yet never felt quite as lovely as I thought I should. I would admire the other women and wonder why I didn’t feel as stunning as they looked. Then it finally dawned on me --it was my lack of accessories. The other women wore earrings and necklaces that completed their outfits. I haphazardly put on jewelry and accessories that I knew were mundane. I would like to share some accessorizing tips I’m using now.
