Keep Your Skin Radiant And Youthful Between Spa Visits

Blog

While facials, manicures, and pedicures may be something you dream of everyday, the reality is, life can become busy and you may not be able to treat yourself as often as you'd like. Between spa visits, keep your skin radiant and healthy with the tips listed below.

Hydration Is Key to Healthy, Glowing Skin

Radiant skin cannot be achieved if your body is dehydrated. While applying lotion, moisturizers, and oils to your skin will add moisture to the outside of your skin, keeping your entire body hydrated, from the inside out, is the only way to keep your skin radiant and youthful.

Drinking plenty of water, especially replenishing after a particularly difficult workout, is an important part of any beauty regimen. Dehydration can lead to dryness and puffiness, and neither lend themselves to a beautiful, glowing complexion.

Fully Remove Makeup Before Going to Bed

Makeup is not intended for 24-hour use, which is why falling into bed with a face full of dry, caked on makeup is a big no-no. This can result in clogged pores that lead to skin irritation, discolorations, and breakouts. When removing makeup, be sure to use a gentle makeup remover that dissolves makeup, dirt, and other buildup and don't forget the sensitive eye areas.

After your makeup is fully removed, be sure to moisturize, as makeup can be particularly drying.

Exfoliate Regularly

While daily exfoliation is not recommended, it's important to have a skin care schedule that allows for regular exfoliation sessions. Over time, your skin will seem to appear duller as makeup, dirt, and other daily irritants build up.

Exfoliating once or twice weekly will remove that buildup, allowing the youthful glow of your natural skin to shine through.

Protect and Nourish

It is absolutely necessary, no matter your skin tone, that you apply sunscreen to all exposed portions of your skin. While covering your skin with clothing is ideal, it isn't always possible, especially during the summer. When applying sunscreen to your face, be sure to use one that won't clog pores, as this can lead to breakouts and irritation.

After a day out and about in the sun, be sure to apply aloe to your skin—aloe will speed the healing process of any burns. Vitamin C creams are a great way to keep replenish your facial skin and help it to retain its natural glow.

While a regularly scheduled visit with an esthetician is your best bet at maintaining glowing, healthy, youthful-looking skin, you may not always be able to get to a spa. With the tips above, you can now keep your skin in shape in between your spa day visits. For more information on skin care, click here

Accessorizing Your Evening Gown

My name is Melinda Franklin, and I want to thank you for visiting my website. My husband Joseph is an executive in the firm where he works. This means we have three to five annual formal affairs to attend. I will be the first to admit that I’m not the most fashion savvy person. For years, I would find and wear what I thought was the perfect evening gown for each event, yet never felt quite as lovely as I thought I should. I would admire the other women and wonder why I didn’t feel as stunning as they looked. Then it finally dawned on me --it was my lack of accessories. The other women wore earrings and necklaces that completed their outfits. I haphazardly put on jewelry and accessories that I knew were mundane. I would like to share some accessorizing tips I’m using now.
